Essie Winter Collection Leading Lady Swatch and Review

I adore red glitter jellies.  I heart them so hard.  There's something magical about a red polish that contain red glitter.  I think it might have to do something with my childhood bike and the red handlebars and seat.  That's why I had to get Essie's Leading Lady from their recent winter collection.  It was the only color from this collection that really caught my eye - I feel like the other colors in the collection are a bit blase and have been done before.  And red is in, very VERY IN right now, especially red lips and red nails.  Speaking of, I saw Skyfall today and saw Berenice Marlohe's OPI Skyfall red stiletto nails.  Meow!!  Leading Lady is the same category of red hotness and I was very pleased overall with the polish.

Application for this was flawless.  I had no streaking or clumping of the glitter and it applied very evenly.  Being a jelly, I felt it needed three coats for opacity.  Once dried it was a little gritty so I used one layer of Poshe to smooth it out to get a glass like shine.  The glittery goodness really comes through the jelly and the polish sparkles like mad in the light.  I found this difficult to capture on camera but just imagine the sparkliness of picture to be ten times more than what you can see here, and with a lot more depth.

Overall I'm very pleased with Leading Lady and it truly reminds me of those glitter jelly red handlebars and seat that were on my childhood bicycle. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who was looking for a red polish with a little bit of kick.
