Zoya Pixiedust Carter Swatch And Review

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for the first full week of 2014.  Hopefully we're all sticking to our resolutions, if we made any.  As for me, it's the same as always - purge the collection(shoes, bags, polishes), buy less, eat healthier, and work out more.  Hopefully if my life isn't as chaotic as it was last year I'll be able to stick to some of those promises.  What have you resolved to do this year?

There's a current Zoya promo that starts today and it's for three free polishes with $12 shipping and handling fee(why can't it be three polishes shipped for $12?).  The code is COLOR2014 and starts January 7th through 13th.  See details here, as it seems that it might be worth it to spend $25 to get free shipping.  From what I heard, it's working right now!!

If you're looking for polishes to add to your collection, may I suggest Zoya Carter?  Carter was released during the Fall 2014 Pixiedust collection and it is amazing!  It's a sparkling dark fuchsia glitter in nearly black base that dries to matte textured finish.  The black and fuchsia come together and gives the polish a purple appearance once dry.  The sparkle factor is off the chart, and makes for a blingy vamp.  Love!  I used four super thin coats here because I heard the polish dries super slow.  I had no trouble navigating the polish onto my nail thanks to the easy to maneuver Zoya brush, and I had no pooling or clumping or dragging, as long as I let the polish dry in between coats.  It does dry super slow too, in fact once I finished I managed to ding a nail quite a while later. Of course, no topcoat here in the pics.

Thankfully despite the ding, textured polishes are really forgiving and hide imperfections well.  Once dry, the texture itself isn't as gritty as other texture polishes I've tried, which I'm thankful for because I worry that it'll be too rough for LO when it rubs against her baby soft skin.  Carter is definitely a must have Zoya IMO, and I hope that you pick it up if you don't already have it!  Are you going to jump on this sale, and if so, what are you planning on getting?  I'd love to hear about your haul! (Says the girl that is on a low buy)

ETA this is off topic but I just got an email that Barielle is having a whopping 40% with free shipping. O.m.g. Today only!

  1. I love this polish! I still need to wear it, but I just love the color. Purples like this are my favorite. Plus, it's pretty much perfect that my pup's name is Carter.
