Hit Polish U.H.F. Over Nars Disco Inferno Swatch And Review

Nothing To Disclose

Whew, what a weekend of shopping!  How did you do?  I think I went over my allotted nail polish budget(of course), but luckily not by much, plus we got a small bonus at work so I didn't feel too bad spending it.  You'll be able to see my nail polish booty over the next few weeks!

Sephora had some Nars products marked down during the VIB sale, and I was able to score Disco Inferno for a steal.  I heard a lot of bad reviews about this polish, and I wanted to see firsthand what the issues were, especially considering the how good the other Nars products perform.  Disco Inferno is a shimmery silver foil that give off hints of pink and lavender in certain lights.  It's so quick I almost think I'm imagining it, but they're definitely there.  The formula applied easily enough but unfortunately it was really sheer.  I used four coats for this mani and still had some bald spots on camera despite looking opaque IRL.  No topcoat in these pics.

I thought it would be a good base for my Hit Polish U.H.F.(Ultra High Frequency) because of the grey base and sparkly glitter.  I was introduced to Hit Polish by Melissa from Swatch Me Now and I've always wanted to try the brand.  When Hit Polish had a Black Friday sale, I swooped and scored.  Here, I used two coats of U.H.F., and some of the sheer grey base overshadowed the silver of Disco Inferno.  U.H.F. contains holographic microglitter, pink, blue, and yellow glitters, as well as some moons and stars.  I wasn't able to get the moons or stars in these pics because none got picked up by my brush during application.  The formula was a touch thick as expected for a glitter polish, but the brush was a bit bushier than I like making application a messier than usual.  I finished with a layer of topcoat to smooth out any glitters.

I love the combination of glitters in this, it's fun flirty, and sparkly all at the same time.  On my right hand I used three coats of U.H.F. alone to achieve opacity, and it has a nice squishy appearance because of the semi-translucent base.  I managed to get some stars on my right hand too, so some fishing may be in order to get more out of the bottle in the future.  Overall, I'm happy with the quality and finish of this polish and definitely look forward to trying more of Hit Polish.  I'm hugely impressed by the quick turnaround and shipping, considering that I purchased on Thursday night and I've already got in my grubby paws on Monday.  Have any of your purchases trickled in yet?

  1. Yay, I'm glad you got something from Hit Polish! It is a gorgeous color. I love the pop of glitters against the gray base. I actually bought a few polishes from their Black Friday sale as well. Now I just need to start wearing them!
