Takko Lacquer To Infinity And Beyond Swatch And Review

Purchased

Sorry I've been missing the past few days - I had some long days at work and some work related holiday dinners that resulted in me getting home late and knocking out while putting LO to bed.  I seem to be getting tired earlier these days, or perhaps I'm not getting enough sleep.

Today's swatch is Takko Lacquer's To Infinity And Beyond, a gorgeous duochrome holo that shifts from grey to purple to green.  I'm guessing the color is named after Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, and the colors aptly represent him.  The formula on this was a bit thicker than I expected but was nicely pigmented.  I only needed two layers here but found that it didn't self level as well as I'd like, which is most likely due to the thickness of the formula.  I used a layer of topcoat to add shine because it dried to a satin finish on its own.

These are in the light tent so that you may see the base colors of grey, dusty lavender, and green.

Next, these are under direct light so that you can see the lovely holo pigments.

The holo sparkle really enhances the duochrome beauty within this polish, and I can't get enough of twirling my fingers in the light to set off the flare.  The duochrome itself isn't too original, and if I look hard enough I can probably find a dupe in one of the new KBShimmer winter releases.  I think I like the formula of this better than the KBShimmers - if I can do one less coat, I'm a fan, despite leveling issues.  I'm always looking for polishes that are quick and easy to apply, and this is a winner in my book.  Would you forgive the leveling issues for increased pigmentation?
