Hare Polish The Coin Operation Read My Biorhythm and Peepshow Magique Swatch And Review

Today I have the second installment of Hare's newest fall collection called The Coin Operation.   This collection is inspired by nostalgic carnival games if yesteryear as described by the maker.  These last two polishes have similar components of the previous two polishes that were swatched yesterday, and that is a jelly colored base with gold and tonal flakes.

Read My Biorhythm is a light lagoon green jelly that has an easy to apply formula which built up to decent opacity at three coats.  The slight sheerness allows for the flakes to reflect as much light as possible with the gold shining through to the forefront.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.   Luckily, at the time of this post, this particular shade is still available at Hare's Etsy shop.

Next is the lightest of the four shades called Peepshow Magique.  This is a light pink jelly that contrasts really well with the golden flakes, making them almost appear antiqued.  Being such a light color, I opted to use a similar base color by L'Oréal called Penthouse Pink, a light pink crelly.  I used two coats which you can see here.  Please don't mind the steaks!

Next I layers two coats of Peepshow Magique over Penhouse Pink, and four coats of it alone with no base color on my ring finger.  Three coats alone had some slight uneveness of color and four leveled it out. I think the tonal flakes are much more visible on the ring finger compared to the rest, however the gold flakes stand out more on the other fingers with the colored base.   I guess you win some and lose some depending on which way you apply it. I prefer the ring finger myself, considering that I'm a purist at heart and dislike alluring original products.  This is all finished with topcoat in the pics.

Well there you have it, the entire collection.  To recap, all the formulas were similar in that they were easy to apply with no streaking except for Peepshow Magique.  To compensate, I used four coats of PM to level out the streaks.  I had no clumping or sticking of the flakes during application, but I did have some of the flakes come off the tip as you can see in some of the photos.  I blame that partly on myself for not cleaning those up better.  They're all on the sheer side which can be remedied with a colored base, but I personally like it sans base color so the flakes can shine through.  Zoltar Speaks is my favorite of the four but they're all divine in their own right.  Jellys are my favorite finish by Hare and I'm glad that Nikole made another collection with them.  Which of these is your favorite?
