Avon had their Friends and Family sale last weekend which conveniently worked out for me because I was running out of my favorite exfoliating scrub by their Clearskin line. To qualify for free shipping, I added a couple Nailwear Pro shades from their Forbidden Fruit collection. I haven't tried any of their polishes so I thought this would be a great opportunity. I chose two Halloween-ish shades.
The first color is Divine Lime, a gorgeous yellow toned almost chartreuse green jelly with green glass flecks. I had a little streaking upon application and it didn't self level as well as I would have liked. You'll see some sheer patches on a couple of the nails despite three layers. No topcoat in these pics. I love that there's a squishy quality to this due to the jelly formula and it's jammed packed with glass flecks.

Next is Apple Of His Eye, a muted deep orange jelly with gold glass flecks. I've seen this combination amongst other brands but I think this is the first for me, and I have to admit that I luuurve it! It's season appropriate for fall and for Halloween, and the gold is not shy and glimmers quite a bit. Application was much easier than Divine Lime in that it flowed easily without streaking and was fairly opaque in one coat. I used two coats here without topcoat.

The orange was begging for some Halloween nail art so I took out my Winstonia stamping plates and added some Halloween stamps with Wet n Wild black creme. The stamps were super easy to transfer from the plate to the nail.

Overall, I was really impressed by the colors from Avon's Forbidden Fruit Collection, and the glass flecks are the icing on the cake when it comes to these juicy jellies. I thought I got these at a pretty good deal during the Friends and Family sale, but now they're even cheaper on the website, except Apple Of His Eye is now out of stock. There are still a few more colors available and I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on those, along with those Cosmic holos and Suedes! Must. resist!
Fun to hear about Avon, haven't heard much about them since I can't get my hands on them.
ReplyDeleteYour nail art stamping in the end was also just awesome!:D
Aw Thanks! My amateur nail artist inside is blushing!
