Happy weekend everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the weekend, especially those who get Monday off as well. I had to work Saturday but I have Monday off so it's a fair trade for me. I'd rather have off on a weekday rather than a weekend because I feel like I get more accomplished without having to fight the weekend crowds.
Tonight I have for you a new collection that was released this week by Tough As Nails called The Dregs Collection. The creator describes the line as follows:
"The Dregs is a different sort of collection from Tough As Nails Lacquer.
Featuring four lacquers, The Dregs Collection was conceived from my
recent obsession with drinking tea, the underbelly of Victorian culture,
and a desire for a more calming collection. The color palate in The
Dregs is much softer, featuring two work-friendly glitters and two pale,
shimmery crèmes."
I'm breaking this up into two parts, the first part are the two glitters and the second part will be the shimmery cremes. I'm really enjoying this collection because the colors are softer and pastel which is making me really anticipate spring.
First of the glitter polishes is Builder's Tea, a nice brown based polish with gold shimmer and mult sized gold hexes and brown microglitter. I love how beautiful the brown and gold components compliment each other in this polish. The gold shimmer glows from within and the brown microglitter adds some depth. The formula was fantastic too, not too thick and easy to apply, and no clumping of the glitters in any way. I only needed two coats and a topcoat for a perfect mani.

The second glitter of this collection is called Magdalene's Laundry Service. This is a super feminine combination of pale pink crelly base with multi sized pink hex glitters and round pink glitters. The color reminds me of a yummy strawberry milkshake. I had no problems with application although it was a tad sheer - I used three coats and still has some VNL. There was no clumping, however, so I probably could have done four coats with no problems but I like the amount of glitter I had after three coats. I finished with a layer of topcoat for shine.

So far I think Tough As Nails has hit a home run with the glitters. Formula on both were perfect and the color combinations are unique and beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the cremes round out the collection.
