Elevation Polish Toubkal Swatch and Review

Another crazy day at work... I managed to chip the polish off every nail today with all the running around and handling meds.  I guess it's not such a bad thing because it gives me an excuse to change my nail polish all the time!

I've been eyeing Elevation Polishes for quite some time but was never able to purchase any either because I missed the restocks or was abstaining from purchasing polishes, but after finally getting paid last Friday, I finally decided to take the plunge when I noticed that the colors I was lusting after were still in stock.  One color I was surprisingly able to score was Toubkal, gorgeous dark red with brown undertone jelly base and red glassflecks.  Gorgeous!  I really like that Elevation Polishes aren't glitter based polishes but instead highlight more subtle effects such as shimmers and glassflecks.  For my first experience with Elevation, Toubkal applied fairly easily - it was neither thick nor thin and there was no streaking visible after the first coat.  I could have gotten away with two but the camera picked up some VNL so I used three in these pics followed with a coat of Poshe.  It dried a little slowly on its own so I recommend extra dry time in between layers.

I really love this color and glassfleck effect, however, I wonder if it looks similar to one of the recent Cult Nail releases, either Bitten(shown here) or Afterglow(I unfortunately don't have this).  What do you think?  At second glance it's probably closer to Afterglow.... would love to see a side by side comparison if anyone has both!
