I had a total carbfest today! I adore carbs of any kind and never have any willpower when confronted with them. I use to be much better at avoiding them but lately I just can't stop myself. There goes trying to watch my diet for the new year! I might as well go celebrate with some french fries.
Tonight I thought I'd try something new and see if I could do a glitter sandwich successfully. I used two layers of LEX Toast, a sheer off white jelly followed with a layer of American Apparel Galaxy. I haven't yet figured out how to use the AA glitters but thought this would be a good application because it would hide the reflective curling. Unfortunately, I didn't consider the thick formula of Galaxy would make it difficult to get the glitters to spread evenly without damaging the Toast underneath, nor that it would make it a thick combination of polish once it was completed. I used one or on some nails two more layers of Toast over top and finished with SH Insta Dri. The other difficulty I had was the thin formula of Toast, it kept flooding my cuticles each time I applied it. Overall not my best work but at least it's not an eye sore!

I don't normally have to do clean up so pardon my poor attempts at cleaning up... I plan on trying some more sandwiches in the future but probably with a darker jelly for easier application. Have you tried glitter sandwiches before? I did learn one thing, and that is AA Galaxy is rubbish. Too thick base and too large glitters with reflective curling equal a disaster waiting to happen.
