Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday despite having the day off of work. I guess you could say I was catching up with all the things I needed to do that I ran out of time to make a post! I really enjoyed the time off of work - it made me long for the days when I was off for maternity leave.
Tonight I have an oldie but goodie that I found recently at a nail supply shop, OPI Coral Reef. They had it in a clearance box and there were several available but I only picked up two. Now I'm wondering if I should have gotten more! I believe this was released as one of the first ever made holographic polishes along with a few other holo colors that season. I was curious to see how much the holo would translate, considering nowadays where holos are so incredibly holographic, such as the
Color Clubs Halo Hues and
Urban Outfitter Cube holos. The holo in Coral Reef is subtle, but still evident on the nail even in low light. I was mostly surprised how opaque the polish was, I was expecting it to be a three or four coater but I could have gotten away with only one thick coat. Here I used two thin coats and no topcoat to diminish any holo effect. My only real gripe with this polish is that it's black label, and hence not 3 free.

This is also my first orange based polish that I've ever used, and I'm pleasantly surprised to say that I don't hate it on me. I don't love it either, but maybe I just need to get use to seeing orange on me. Do you wear oranges often?
(Sigh) I'd give almost anything to fond a bottle of this, MY FAVORITE POLISH OF ALL TIME!!!!! Can you believe, I had 2 bottles of Coral Reef, and threw them away????? They dried out, and this was before I knew about nail polish thinner!?!?!? Live and learn, but I'll keep looking for a bottle; I can't begin to tell you how gorgeous this is; photos don't do it justice. Thanks for sharing!
