Orly Peaceful Opposition and High On Hope Swatch and Review

I've gotta say that nothing beats mom's home cooking and I've been blessed with having all my meals prepared for me ever since my mom has come to visit.  Of course, I only have LO to thank for the boon in yummy goodness is only because grandma is here to visit her!  I'm glad she's here, it's been a long time since I've had my momma around as long as this.

Tonight I'm excited to show you two polishes from Orly's Spring collection called Hope And Freedom.  The colors are inspired by music festivals and the lovely pastels and finishes are up to date and perfect for spring.

The first one I have called Peaceful Opposition is a lovely white crelly based silver hex and for the first time that I've seen commercially, silver square glitter!  I found the formula to be consistent with any indie glitter polish which is a tiny bit on the thick side but workable and easy to apply.  With each brushstroke there was a perfect amount of glitter in each coat.  I used three coats all together and topped with a layer of Poshe for shine.  I really love how squishy this one looks on it's own!

The second polish that I have is called High On Hope and is my favorite of the collection so far.  This is a stunning dusty blue with duochrome pink to gold shimmer.  The effect is reminiscent of the Cosmic FX collection polishes Space Cadet and Galaxy Girl, and I'm ecstatic that they brought it back.  Formula was a tiny bit runny but maybe that's because I'm so use to glitter polishes, but application was still easy peasy and only two coats for opacity with no streaking.  I was a little OCD and did three coats in these pics with a layer of Poshe on top.  The shimmer is way more apparent IRL and was really difficult to capture on camera.

Based on these two I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the collection once it becomes more readily available come February or March.  Which ones are you anticipating?

  1. Ooh both of these are gorgeous on you! Peaceful Opposition looks like something an indie polish brand would come out with! I need High On Hope! I'm a sucker for all blue polishes XD

    1. Thank you! Hopefully I can find more of the Orlys somewhere, unfortunately my local nail supply stores don't get current Orlys quickly. I would love to try Coachella Dweller!
