China Glaze Aren't You Jelly? Swatch And Review

Happy Humpday!  We're half way through the week and if you're lucky, you get tomorrow off too!  I am off today and tomorrow, but will be back at work Friday and Saturday... I guess that's not so bad considering I'll be off for vacation the following week.  Do you have any interesting plans for the holiday?  I think we may stay low key and watch the fireworks from our roof patio - it won't be too loud for LO that way.

I have a quick swatch tonight for you and that's China Glaze Aren't You Jelly? from the recent Summer Sensational Collection.  I previously swatched Keepin It Teal from the same collection and decided I needed this color as well.  This is a pretty pink leaning purple jelly that applied similarly to Keepin It Teal, which was four coats in these pictures because of sheerness and uneven application.  I have a hard time with any polishes over three coats and managed to ding my finger while waiting for one of the coats to dry.  It dried semi-matte so I used a coat of Poshe to add shine factor.

This definitely has some squishiness to it after applying the topcoat but I really wish it didn't have to take four coats to get there.  I could have used white as a basecoat but then I think I wouldn't get the translucency that I love about jellies.  I want to keep it because I don't think I have a similar color, but unfortunately I think it's going into the swap pile.  Oh well!
