Finger Paints Turquoise Tile Swatch And Review

Summer is quickly becoming my favorite season for nail polish colors.  I love the vibrant colors and the neon trend is so fun!  I have another bright blue for you today, and that's Turquoise Tile by Finger Paints.  It's a lovely turquoise blue shimmer that has that glow-from-within effect.  It's rare to find a polish that glows with shimmer, and this is one of them.  The formula on this was excellent, two easy coats and I got decent opacity.  No topcoat in these pictures so you can see the inherent shine.

And one last pic of Turquoise Tile in sunshine - I snapped this in the car on the way to work with my camera phone.  It's not the same mani as above, this one was more hastily applied(LO was napping so I had to act quick) with two super thin coats and a layer of Poshe.

Don't you love that shimmer?  I wish I could find more like this.  One that comes to mind is Dior Exquis, but other than that, nothing else off the top of my head.  Do you know any polishes with a glowing shimmer?

Hare Polish Bisbee Reformulated Swatch and Review

It rained again today in Los Angeles and I regret not having my car outside to take advantage of it.  Hopefully it will rain a little bit more this weekend(yes, I'm wishing for rain) because I enjoy the cooler weather and it makes nap time with LO so much sweeter.

Finally! Today I have Hare Polish Bisbee in my hot little hands and I'm so excited to show this to you.  I'd been stalking this color for months and it kept slipping away each time I had it in my checkout basket, but this time I was at the computer with my trigger finger and managed to snag one.  Bisbee is lovely combination of a gorgeous turquoise jelly base and multisized gold glitter.  Gold and turquoise is a classic combination of colors and I love how the two contrast against each other.  I found the formula to be a bit thick but workable, with some instances of glitter clumping during application.  I resolved that by dabbing the brush to separate the pieces and it seemed to work out fine.  I used three layers in these pics and you can still see a little VNL through the camera but not so much with the naked eye.  I probably could have used only a layer of topcoat to add shine because it dried a little matte, but I used a layer of Gelous too for good measure.

Beautiful, isn't it?? Do you know of any other polishes that have a similar combination?  Butter London Two Fingered Salute comes to mind but it's more of a teal blue with copper flakes.

Illamasqua Rubber Finish Polishes: Prosperity, Serenity, Nurture, and Devotee

I decided to try something new today - the Illamasqua Rubber Polishes.  I have four of them for you to see, and they were all fun to wear because of how bright they all were.  Application for most of these were a breeze.  These are all available through Sephora, and they're currently on sale for $11 a pop.  If you've got a Friend and Family discount, you'll get 20% off additional!  What a deal!

First is Prosperity, a bright neon purple.  Application was great, it took two coats for opacity and it self leveled extremely well with very little streaking.  I was worried that the rubber finish may show off any flaws, but I don't think I had that problem at all with this polish.  The photos are a bit bluer than what the actual color is in real life... it's always difficult to photograph purple accurately!

Next I have Serenity, a bright turquoise blue that reminds me of a refreshing deep blue pool.  It's still warm here in SoCal, so it makes me wish I could jump into one now!  No problems with this polish in terms of application either.

Nurture is a beautiful neon green color, a color that I think is perfect for a Halloween mani - it reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the West's skin tone.  This one however, was the most difficult for me to apply.  It was very streaky and it took me three coats to even it all out.  Despite all that, I'm sure I could use it in some nail art sometime in the future.

Devotee was the most surprising of the bunch for me.  It's a stunning bubblegum pink color, a color that I normally dislike but I ended up really liking it on me.  This one had no trouble with application either.

My favorite of these were Devotee and Prosperity.  My least favorite was Nurture.  Have you tried these yet?  What do you think of them?
