Hare Polish Perfect Storm Swatch And Review

Happy Humpday!  Is anyone watching the Olympics?  I'm not huge into Olympic sports, but I do enjoy the ice skating events.  I've also heard a lot about the difficulties of Sochi hosting the Olympics as well - are they true?  Some of them sound mind blowing!  I'm curious to know what you heard.

Nikole of Hare polish recently released some "Jackalopes," polishes that didn't quite fit into any particular collection, and I have one of them for you today.  This is Perfect Storm, a dark inky blue jelly crammed with purple, gold, and fuchsia squares and circles, with a sprinkling of microglitter.  I consider this the blue sister to Anemone Gardens.  I used three coats in these pics, and the glitter density was surprising low in respect to Hare's previous releases.  I had minimal stacking of glitter, no dragging, or streaking during application.  It's topcoat thirsty, and I found that my GlitterDaze Super Smooth wasn't enough alone so this warranted coat of Gelous before applying a QDTC.

I couldn't decide which macro to use, so I put both my middle and ring finger in.  I had difficulty capturing the full beautiful effect of this polish because the darkness of the polish did not want to stay in focus with my camera.  I like that this isn't your run of the mill navy glitter bomb that has an underwater feel - instead, the bright pink adds a touch of whimsy.  I've said it before and will say it again, Nikole has a great eye for color and always combines colors in a surprising yet pleasing way.  Bravo!

  1. I love how squishy this looks! The combination of round and square glitter is always a winner for me :)

    1. You're right... as long as there are square glitters, I can't complain!

  2. Oh my, I need this polish! It's beyond gorgeous. The colors are just beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen a Hare that I didn't like. They're all awesome.

I haven't watched much of the Olympics but I like the ice skating. However I'm really excited for men's ice hockey to start. I not only love the sport but also some of my favorite players from my favorite team, the LA Kings, will be playing. I can't wait. I read an article that showed tweets and pictures of the problems people have been dealing with over there and probably the most interesting/scariest thing I saw was the yellow water. I guess there's also a lot of stray dogs.

    1. I heard about the stray dogs, so sad! I heard about the living quarters and the exorbitant amount of money that was spent without results. I bet you're excited about the hockey game from today - DH was yelling at the screen during the last round with Russia. So cool!
