Sinful Colors Rise & Shine Swatch And Review with Bonus Orly Sparkling Garbage

Yay, it's Saturday!  I'm up late again but not because of LO, but because I was aimlessly clicking thru cable tonight and happened upon the movie Honey.  I haven't seen it since it was released, but it's entertaining enough to keep me glued to the screen.  Jessica Alba does a good job dancing but it's sort of strange to see her playing a club dancer from the city, especially considering she's a mother now.  Her New York accent doesn't seem normal for her either.  Knowing me, I'll probably stay up to finish the movie and hate myself later for doing it.

As I'm watching the movie, I'm swatching Sinful Colors Rise & Shine, a gorgeous pigmented green leaning teal with slight silver shimmer.  Dare I say it but I think I like it more than YSL's Vert D'Orient that I swatched a while back.  The formula was excellent - it was smooth and easy to control and flowed onto my nail like butter.  It was fairly opaque with one coat but I used two to ensure extra coverage.  No topcoat in these pictures because I think it dried fairly shiny on its own but you can see the underlying imperfections(yes, there's some fuzzies stuck in there).

For fun, I used Orly Sparkling Garbage as an accent nail and then free handed the diagonal color blocking.  Sparkling Garbage is too sheer to wear on its own and needs a bit of a teal base to really bring out the holo glitter.

This is under direct light, to see if the holo glitter rainbows show a little more.

How do you like the sparkle in that?  It's definitely not garbage in my book.  Now if only Orly would change their bottle again!  I think Sparkling Garbage works really with with Sinful's Rise & Shine, and I love how the shimmer of Rise & Shine play off the holo in the Orly.  The teal green shimmer is definitely a keeper in my book and it's the perfect shade for the summer!  Have you picked up any amazing teals lately?
