Ozotic Elytra 528 Over Sinful Colors Leather Luxe Strapped Swatch And Review

Purchased

Whew, what a weekend!  I always have the most difficulty with the spring daylight savings change, and for that reason I slept a lot this weekend, including naps in the afternoon.  The weather out here has been strange as well, in that it was super hot for both days.  I was outdoors for both days, which probably explains why my skin has been acting up.  I can't seem to keep it moisturized, despite using a cream three times a day.  I'm thinking I'll have to switch moisturizer, preferably to something that's heavier and thicker.  What kind of cream do you use when the weather is dry?

I bought Sinful Colors Strapped a few weeks ago when Walgreens was having their $1 sale, and I thought it was one of the newer spring colors because it was located in the the new display. Little did I know that it was part of the Leather Luxe collection.  I was surprised to see that it had a crelly like consistency that dried matte, and still didn't realize it was Leather Luxe until I googled the color.  Huh.  I used three coats here and you can see that it didn't self level very well.  I bet a layer of topcoat would do wonders, but I left it alone for you to see here.

Next, I decided to pull out a dusty from my collection, Ozotic Elytra 528, a color shifting topcoat glitter that ranges from gold, red, purple and green.  I used three coats here, all the time wishing that it was denser in glitter so that I wasn't using a total of size coats for this mani.  I finished with a layer of topcoat to hasten drying.

It was really hard to capture the color shifting beauty of this polish, but you can see in the macro that there is definitely a broad range of colors in those glitters.  I love how the outer glitters appear red, but as you move towards the center of the nail, the glitters turn purple, blue, then green.  I'm thinking that this is one of those polishes that look best over black, and I'll have to revisit that again sometime soon.  For now, I used green because of St Patricks day and keeping in theme with that holiday.  IRL, the purple facet of the glitter is most predominant, which is a nice contrast to the green base.  It's about time that I paid some homage to this pretty polish.  Unfortunately this line has been discontinued, but there are some dupes of this out there... I'll revisit that as well.  Have you found any similar topcoats?

  1. It's a pretty combo! There are thankfully many dupes for this particular type of Ozotic glitter....Ninja Polish, HITS (on llarowe), and Darling Diva has some of this type of glitter....

  2. I like this mani a lot! All of the glitters are beautiful to look at and I think they look really great against the green.

    1. Thank you!! I'm not sure if the green swallowed up the glitters but I still like the way it came out.
