Contrary Polish Ain't No Sunshine Swatch And Review

I'm a little sad today, it was a coworker's last day at our work and I'm sorry to see him leave because he was always fun to work with. We celebrated by going out with the work crew to a local cantina for drinks and food and we all had a great time. I think everyone will miss him tomorrow when we see his empty desk. I'm sure he's off to bigger and better things, so I'm happy for him but I hope he stays in touch with us. Do you still keep in touch with coworkers who have come and gone?

Tonight I have my final Contrary Polish from the Spring Love Lyric's collection called Ain't No Sunshine. It's a lovely dusty blue with silver flecks mixed throughout. I think it's fairly unique in that I don't see a lot of polishes anymore with monochromatic flecks. I wish there were more polishes like this out there, but unfortunately there aren't very many. Revlon Royal Cloak, one of my all time favorite polishes, comes to mind. The formula on this was excellent, I had no issues with pooling or streaking and I only needed two coats for opacity. It dried to a satin finish on its own so I used a layer of SH Insta Dri for shine.

Isn't that just gorgey? Do you know of any polishes that have flecks similar to this? Another polish that comes to mind is China Glaze Ahoy but maybe it has smaller glassflecks.

Contrary Polish Feels Like Home from Love Lyrics Spring 2013

This is my first actual post with the new nubbins, and I really had a hard time getting them all the same length. Call it length separation anxie. It took me a full week to get them all filed down, because each day I could only file them down a little at a time.

Tonight I have another installment of Contrary Polish's Love Lyrics collection and this is called Feels Like Home. It's a smokey purple shade with itty bitty pink microglitter. I really love the combination of colors in this polish and I think it makes a wonderful office appropriate mani. The formula was minimally streaky and fairly opaque after the first coat, and I used two coats to even it out. I had no trouble with application and it went on very smoothly. It dried to a satin finish so I added a layer of Poshe for additional shine.

I can't get over the contrasting microglitter in this polish and I can't help but wish there were more polishes out there. Luckily I managed to snag another similar polish from the same collection called The Way I Am which you can see here. I think this may be one of my favorite collection released this season because it isn't your traditional spring pastels. Have you managed to snag any of these yet?

Contrary Polish Love Lyrics 2013 The Way I Am Swatch And Review

I hope everybody had a lovely weekend! As for myself, I was super busy and barely had any downtime except for tonight, but even then I had to put LO to bed twice because she woke up again and wouldn't fall back to sleep. I didn't get a chance to watch the Oscars either, boo!

Tonight I have my favorite pick from Contrary Polish's 2013 line called Love Lyrics. My favorite of the collection is a soft spring green with fuchsia microglitter and shimmer. I love the contrast in colors and think that it's pure to add microglitter along with the shimmer. The formula was easy to apply, I used three coats for these pics but probably would have been ok with only two coats IRL. I finished with a layer of SH Insta Dri for shine because it dried to a satin finish on its own.

After trying this, I'm am excited to try the rest of the polishes from the Love Lyrics collection, but only if I can get my hands on them! They seem to be selling out as fast as hotcakes! Are you interested in grabbing any of these?
