Kunimitsu Nail Potions Valentines Duo - Dye Heart and You Are Loved Swatch And Review

Can you believe it's February already?  It's Superbowl Sunday, Chinese New Years, and Tet rolled into one weekend. I'm not a big Superbowl fan, so today we're heading down to Orange County to celebrate Tet.  It's tradition to eat vegetarian for the holiday, which makes my DH happy - most likely we'll go to our favorite vegetarian vietnamese restaurant..  Hopefully it won't be crazy busy!  I'm sure we'll see lots of firecrackers and dancing dragons too.  Chuc Mung Nam Moi everyone!

To start off February, I have a lovely Valentines Day inspired duo set by Kunimitsu Nail Potions.  The intent of the duo is to "send a Valentine" to a person of your choice, or to sponsor a Valentine to an unknown someone who needs a pick me up.  It's a wonderful concept, meant to celebrate Valentine's Day in the best of ways - giving a little token of love to someone so that they know they are loved.  The gift is sent with a little Valentine's Day note, and you can choose to have your name disclosed in the message.  Sweet idea, huh?  I'm sure it would be fabulous for BFFs, relatives, or co-workers.

The first of this duo is a pink crelly called Dye Heart, and it's loaded with pink holographic sparkling microglitters.  I used three coats here and had no difficulty with clumping glitters or streaking.  It applied evenly and smoothly, a real pleasure!  I read that this can cause staining upon removal as well, and I will follow up with my thoughts after wearing it.  ETA:  Yes indeed, this can cause a dark pink staining, more than I expected.  I definitely recommend wearing a good basecoat to prevent staining when using this.   I finished this with a layer of GlitterDaze Super Smooth topcoat.

The second half the duo is a lovely Valentine's Day inspired glitter topper, called You Are Loved.  This contains small silver hex glitters, tiny red and silver glitters, and the occasional silver and red heart shaped glitter. Make sure you let the bottle sit upside down for a little while because the larger glitters tend to settle to the bottom of the bottle.  One coat was sufficient to get plenty of glitter onto the nail, and I had no issues with bald patches or clumping of glitter.  I did have to fish out some of the hearts, but that could be due to the tiny brush not catching them during regular application.  It finished rather smoothly on its own, and I used a layer of GlitterDaze Super Smooth topcoat to finish it all off.

How pretty and feminine are those polishes?  I think to be the recipient of such a wonderful gift would brighten anyone's day and let them know how special they are. If you're looking for a small gift to send that special someone, look no more because I'm sure they'll love this!  The duo is priced very reasonably as well, only $2.75 per mini sized bottle.  In the end, it's the message it conveys, and that's priceless.  Head over to Kunimitsu and check them out, along with the rest of her offerings.  They're all equally sweet!

    1. Thank you! I decided to go for it after I kept staring at my nails trying to imagine what they'd look like. It was time, and I don't regret it!
