Guest Post by Swatch Me Now: Barielle Falling Star Swatch And Review

It's Sunday and today is the reason why we came to the east coast - our good friend is finally getting married, and we're here to celebrate!  He's a good friend of DH's and was the DJ at our wedding, and we're so incredibly happy to share this special day with him!  We'll be spending the day celebrating in Asbury Park while my family stays at the beach house to watch LO.

While I'm out enjoying myself, I have a post for you form the lovely Melissa from Swatch Me Now. Over to you Melissa!

Hi, I'm Melissa of Swatch Me Now! I'm very excited that Thithi has asked me to do a guest post for her blog! Her blog is one that I really enjoy looking at. Her swatches are always amazing and those nails, I am jealous of how perfect they look.

Today I have a really special polish. It was, until a week ago, my biggest lemming. I've wanted Barielle Falling Star for a few years now. I could have easily bought it online, but I never did for some reason. I was so happy when I found it in a Barielle pack at TJ Maxx. Onto pictures!

Falling Star is a blue creme polish packed with copper glitter. My pictures aren't exactly color accurate, the blue base is a little darker. Falling Star is simple, but the combination is unique. My mind is blank when I try to think of a dupe. It's beautiful and it definitely makes me think of a starry sky. The polish itself was thick and application wasn't the easiest. It didn't apply as smoothly as I would have liked. There was some dragging but overall, it wasn't too much of a pain. Being that it was thick, I only needed two coats. The drying time wasn't incredibly fast, but it wasn't slow either. I used one coat of Gelous and one coat of Orly for a glossy finish.

So, did Falling Star live up to my expectations? It sure did! I really, really love it. I can see why so many other people do as well. This is a situation where I don't even care if the formula isn't perfect. It's just awesome, period.

Thank you Thithi for asking me to do a guest post on your blog! I hope you're enjoying your vacation.

How awesome is that mani?  Falling Star is a polish that I've been meaning to try forever as well. Thank you Melissa for a wonderful post!!  Please make sure you check out her blog and subscribe, she has super cute manis and posts great pics of her hauls and her sweet puppy Carter.  Head over there now and take a look!

P.S.  Does this look similar to Kunimitsu Lucky Goldfish or is just me?

Kunimitsu Nail Potions Lucky Goldfish Swatch And Review

Happy Friday!  Today, if things go as planned(which they never do on a trip), we'll be heading to the New Jersey shore to meet up with my two BFFs.  One of them has a vacation home(more like mansion) there which will have plenty of space for my little family, my friends, her family, and later my entire family who will be meeting up with us on Saturday thru Monday.  I'm really looking forward to having some beachtime with the entire crew!

What perfect beach ready manicure to wear than Kunimitsu Nail Potions Lucky Goldfish?  It's the perfect shade of blue to represent water - a deep bright blue crelly that has a smattering of copper mini glitters.  It's like the copper version of speckled polish, and the colors really remind of little goldfish swimming in a pond of water.  I have no problems with application and found the glitter ratio to be perfect.  I used two layers and topped it with Poshe.

How pretty is that polish?  I love the subtle copper glitters that compliment the blue base - it doesn't overwhelm it at all and it adds a nice glint of sparkle when outdoors.  This is my first time using Kunimitsu, and I'm sure it won't be my last.  What's your go to polish for the beach?

Rescue Beauty Lounge Cuprum Swatch And Review

Happy Humpday everybody!  I hope you're enjoying your week.  If not, at least it's halfway over!  As I'm waiting for my chipped nail to grow out,  I have a swatch from one of my back logs to show you.  This is Rescue Beauty Lounge's Cuprum from the Fan Collection.  This was created by a member on a forum that I'm on, and I remember being so excited for her when I found out her vision had been selected.  This is a stunning metallic with copper microglitter mixed throughout, and the formula was fabulous as expected for a RBL polish.  I used two easy coats with minimal streaking and brush strokes, and finished with a layer of Poshe.

It's difficult to see the copper but it's definitely there and much easier to see IRL. Overall I'm really pleased with this color and in love with the Fan Collection in general.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to post the rest of those for you in the future once my nubbin grows back.  What would your polish look like if you had a chance to create your own color?

KBShimmer Band Geek Swatch and Review

I spent today preparing for New Years - I like to get the house cleaned and sorted before the new year begins.  That means getting rid of old clothing and items around the house to give away to Goodwill.  My parents are coming back tomorrow so I've got to clean up the house the anyway.  I like starting the year off fresh so I don't mind a bit.  Do you have any New Year's traditions?

I've been saving this one for New Years, it's my favorite blingy indie polish by KBShimmer called Band Geek.  I love how the sheer black jelly base offsets the metallic hex glitters without swallowing them up.  The glitters are comprised of gold, silver and copper multi sized glitters to mimic the shades of band instruments like the saxophone and flute.  I used three layers and had no clumping of glitter during application.  Formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I topped with a layer of Gelous and Poshe for extra shine to celebrate New Years.

Rescue Beauty Lounge BiB4 Aqua Lily, Insouciant, Recycle, and Piu Mosso

If you've been hiding under a rock, then you wouldn't know about the Rescue Beauty Lounge Bring it Back 4 polishes available for pre-order until Saturday night.  This time around Opaque Nude, Starfish Patrick, Insouciant, Aqua Lily, Recycle, and Piu Mosso will be available.  They're all $20 each and the pre-order is accessible through the email sent to all those on the mailing list.  To help make your decision easier(or more difficult) I've got a few swatches of the polishes.

Insouciant was my first ever RBL, sent to me by a lovely member of the nail forum that I post on regularly through a gift exchange.  Looking back, I had no idea about the quality of RBLs or the uniqueness of this color until much later after Insouciant became out of stock.  It's a lovely taupey lavender shade with blue and pink shimmer.  Yes, blue AND pink shimmer, two colors!  My bottle was a bit thick but a little thinner would probably help.  Otherwise, application was a dream, consistent with all of RBLs formula.  This is shown with two coats and a layer of Poshe.

Aqua Lily was part of the fan created line of colors and was immensely popular and sold out quickly.  It's a stunning aqua shade with a hidden pink shimmer and applied like a dream.  This is two coats with one layer of Poshe.

Recycle is a fantastic green cream.  I can't believe I haven't used it until now!  If you don't have this one, you have to get it.  It did apply a bit streaky on the first coat but it evened out after the 2nd.  This is shown with one layer of Poshe.

My last swatch is Piu Mosso, a rich and pigmented navy with copper shimmer.  I probably could have used one layer but I did two out of habit and followed with Poshe.

Whichever polishes you choose, I'm sure you won't go wrong.  I myself won't be ordering any of the BiB unless my secret Santa has it on her list.  It'll be a great time to catch the remaining GOMM polishes as well.  Are you going to put an order in?

Butter London Two Fingered Salute

I adore this new Butter London shade that is exclusive to Nordstrom, called Two Fingered Salute.  It's a beautiful jade green cream with copper shimmer.  I haven't seen any polish that would be similar to this and I can see this becoming one of my favorites.  The application was a dream, and I used two coats in these pictures.  Grab yours today online or in stores.
